"ACT-IAC is committed to providing high quality and relevant information to our ACT government members and IAC member companies. We are pleased to partner with Learning Tree to support our efforts to provide such training,” said Ken Allen, Executive Director of ACT-IAC. “This partnership is meant to provide training for the federal IT community that is relevant to our members’ needs, and include technical as well as management and leadership training."
Initial Course Offerings include:
- Agile Leadership (Course 3401, 3 Days)
- Program Management: Essential Skills for Program Success (Course 3611, 4 Days)
- Cloud Computing Essentials Introduction (Course 1200, 3 Days)

"Effective training is an important aspect of professional development, and we are especially pleased to become a partner with the ACT-IAC Academy to provide relevant courses for government and industry members," said Richard A. Spires, CEO of Learning Tree International.
Mr. Spires recently testified before the Subcommittees on IT and on Government Operations of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform with recommendations to address the range of Federal IT Acquisition and is a co-author/instructor of the Program Management course, included in this initial offering. "In light of the new Program Management Improvement and Accountability Act (PMIAA), S.1550, requiring the adoption of Government-wide program management standards, policies, and guidelines, this program management course goes beyond theory and shows practical ways to create the synergy between Government and industry to effectively manage large programs and realize more organizational benefits," Mr. Spires explained.
